New project of science and technology: power plant transformed into LED plant factory

Huaneng Wuhan Plant Plant is a science and technology project jointly built by Yangluo Power Plant and Qing Energy Institute. It is the first plant plant in Huaneng system and Hubei Province that is highly coupled with the comprehensive energy of the power plant plant, and the comprehensive operating cost is about 30% lower than that of conventional plant plants.

The construction area of the project is 378 square meters and the actual planting area is 228 square meters. It was divided into 13 functional areas, among which three planting units were leaf vegetable growing area, nightshade fruit growing area and blueberry growing area. Leaf vegetable and nightshade fruit growing area adopted aseptic environment hydroponics, while blueberry growing area adopted substrate culture.

The factory all uses indoor LED artificial plant spectrum, the production of organic vegetables with clean, no pesticide and heavy metal pollution, low bacterial number characteristics, can produce 10,000 kilograms of leafy vegetables, 1380 kilograms of eggplant fruit, blueberries 48 kilograms.

The project is fully integrated with various existing elements of the power plant, and the power is jointly provided by the power plant's self-generated electricity, distributed photovoltaic and energy storage projects in the plant, and comprehensive use of chemical demineralization, recycling water and waste heat, fly ash and other resources to provide plants with "light, temperature, water and gas" needed for growth. While producing high-quality organic vegetables, it achieves efficient carbon reduction and carbon fixation effects.

Relying on the Plant Factory project, Yangluo Power Plant and the Institute of Environment and Development of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Huazhong Agricultural University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology College of Optoelectronics will cooperate - Plant factory to solve the potential of thermal power resource recycling and carbon reduction and carbon sequestration; Cultivation and utilization technology of coal-based solid waste in thermal power plant (such as fly ash, slag, etc.); The research on the operation control and optimization of the integrated energy system of thermal power plants is a demonstration for exploring the path and program of fully integrating energy with modern agriculture.

On July 16, Huaneng Wuhan Plant harvested the first batch of organic vegetables, with a total weight of 60 kg and 300 bags of organic green butterfly lettuce and Rosa green lettuce.
